Each August, the students describe the learning environment that will best serve them by writing their class statement. This statement perfectly reflects our classroom environment.

Our collaborative classroom is respectful and creative. It is an organized, comfortable, motivational, and project-based community. Class statement written by the 6th grade students on August 4, 2016

About Me

The 2016-2017 school year is my 7th year of teaching. Lucky for me, all have been spent at Patterson-6 years as a 6th grade teacher and 1 year as the ALP teacher. My hometown is Tabor, IA and I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!). In 2009, I earned a MAED. In addition to the master’s degree, I have a gifted endorsement.

My family has called Gilbert home since 1999. My husband and I have two children, who attend Gilbert High School.
