Dear Sixth Grade Families,
Hi, my name is Bernedette Thompson, and I am your child’s 6th grade teacher at Patterson. I was born and raised in Arizona. I have a rather large family. I have two amazing boys, I have four wonderful stepchildren, and together my husband and I have a beautiful daughter, Isabella. Yep, our house was a mini classroom (most of our children are semi-grown now:). As a family, we enjoy traveling, hiking, baseball, going to the movies, playing board games, and just hanging out together. Family is a huge part of who I am. Education is also a big part of who I am.
Education is extremely important to me and to my family. When my boys were young, I was a stay at home mom. In 2003, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (Certification K-8) from Arizona State University. I continued my education, and in 2007 received a Master’s degree in Counseling in Education (Emphasis in Human Relations) from Northern Arizona University. I again continued my studies, and in 2011 received my second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. During this time, I have been in the classroom serving students and families for nine exciting years. I then spent an additional three years in administration as a principal. Many students and families have touched my heart through the years, and I am proud to say that I have worked hard to do the same.
I am extremely excited to be a part of the Patterson family again this year. I know it is going to be an incredible year. I am thrilled to be your child’s 6th grade teacher, and I can’t wait to work together as a team. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me… GO PANTHERS!!!!
